Internal communications work best when they don’t feel like internal communications
Working alongside Temple Health’s communications team, RTRN helped build a more consistent approach to employee communications during a period of significant fatigue and change.

Internal communications should help people understand what is happening, why it matters, and, sometimes most importantly, remind them that someone is paying attention.

Don’t underestimate
the value of consistency
The team developed a sustained internal communications approach that included system-wide communications, leadership and nursing messages, and employee storytelling designed to make organizational progress more visible, and participation easier.
My Role
I helped bring the strategy to life visually and verbally through internal communications, campaign materials, digital content, and storytelling—balancing the need to communicate organizational information with the more human need to feel appreciated, included, and heard.

We are Temple Health
Wanting to shift the internal conversation from exhaustion and crisis after two long years of COVID, to pride, connection and recognition, we created a multi-week employee engagement experience.
Each week used an iconic movie quote as a creative hook, connecting it to employee stories, awards, outcomes and moments that celebrated the strength of the One Temple Team, reminding employees of what they had accomplished together and why their work mattered.
Creating a shared experience
And it was much more than an email series. The campaign came to life across the employee experience through retractable banners, flyers, wall clings, HUB pages, employee and leader emails, videos and Cameos, contests, giveaways, T-shirts, movie passes and even Encanto “family” selfie stands.

The importance of
leadership buy-in
Leaders and HR teams across campuses helped activate the campaign locally, creating repeated moments of surprise, recognition and participation.
Together, the experience used curiosity, celebration and a little fun to help rebuild energy, reinforce culture and remind employees what made Temple Health worth believing in.
Over an eight-week period, over 4,000 employees participated in the engagement campaign.
